Darek Solarski

is a documentary photographer and retoucher based in Brooklyn, NYC. He was born in Poland and became fascinated by black-and-white film photography at an early age in his father’s professional darkroom. After studying fine art and photography in Cracow he left for New York in his late teens.

Darek enjoys shooting with available light in the subjects’ natural environment. For over a decade, he was an in-house photographer for the famous Carlton Arms Hotel resulting in a couple of exhibitions as well as being published in GQ, Cosmopolitan, and The Guardian.

When he is not busy with his camera you can find him biking in Hudson Valley or playing soccer throughout Williamsburg and Brooklyn.
